We would rather mend it than sell you another one.
PurseCorner started because we could not find a bag that was honest about what it was. Everything at one end of the market was thin leather with a loud name on it; everything at the other was anonymous and fell apart in a year.
So we make 24 things. Each one exists because somebody needed it to carry something specific: a laptop across a city, an evening’s essentials, a day’s worth of everything. If we cannot describe the job a bag does in one sentence, we do not make it.
Every design here is our own. We do not copy other houses, we do not put anyone else’s name or monogram on our hardware, and there is no third-party trade mark anywhere on our goods. What you are buying is a bag, not a logo.
How we work
Four decisions that shape everything else

Small runs, made to demand
We produce in runs of a few hundred and reorder when they sell, rather than forecasting a season and discounting what we got wrong. It ties up more of our time and less of the world's material.

Materials we can name
Every product page lists the exact hide, weight and hardware. If a bag is coated canvas rather than leather, it says so at the top, not in a footnote. Nothing here is described as 'genuine leather' — a phrase that means the opposite of what shoppers think.

Built to be opened up
Linings are stitched so they can be unpicked. Hardware is riveted so it can be drilled out and replaced. A bag that cannot be taken apart cannot be repaired, and a bag that cannot be repaired is disposable however good the leather is.

Honest reviews, including the bad ones
We publish every review as written. Three-star reviews sit next to five-star ones on the same page. A shop that shows you only praise is telling you nothing.
Materials
What things are actually made of
- Full-grain leather
- The top layer of the hide with nothing sanded off, so the grain, and the marks the animal collected in life, are still there. It is the strongest part of the hide and the only part that develops a patina rather than wearing through. We buy from tanneries in Italy and Portugal that we have visited.
- Vegetable tannage
- Our core hides are tanned with bark and leaf extracts over weeks rather than with chromium over hours. It is slower, costs more, and smells like leather instead of chemicals. It also ages far better, which is the point.
- Suede
- The underside of the hide, brushed to raise a nap. Beautiful, tactile, and honestly a commitment — it needs a protector and it does not love rain. We say so on every suede product page rather than after you have bought one.
- Waxed canvas
- 18oz cotton impregnated with paraffin and beeswax. Repels water, creases into pale lines that map how you use the bag, and can be re-waxed indefinitely. We will re-wax a Ridge at cost for as long as we make it.
- Recycled nylon
- Post-consumer PET spun into 300–600D nylon for our technical bags. Lighter than leather, genuinely weather-resistant, and it keeps bottles out of landfill. Trimmed with leather at the corners and strap tabs, where nylon fails first.
- Solid hardware
- Brass and stainless steel, plated rather than painted. No zinc alloy, because zinc snaps. Every clasp, zip and buckle we use is one we keep spares of, so a bag can be mended years later.
Repairs
The warranty is two years. The service is not.
Manufacturing faults are covered for 2 years and we fix them free. After that we still fix things — we just charge for parts and time, and we tell you when a repair is not worth the money.
We keep spare hardware for at least 8 years after a design is discontinued, so a bag bought today can be mended long after we have stopped making it.
