Accessibility Statement
The accessibility standard we build to, known gaps, and how to tell us when we fall short.
Last updated August 14, 2026 · Applies to pursecorner.com and every order placed through it
We want pursecorner.com to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need larger text, or are sensitive to motion. This page says what we have done, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.
1. The standard we aim for
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We believe this site substantially conforms to that standard, with the known exceptions listed in section 3.
2. What we have done
- Keyboard. Every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Focus is always visible, the shopping bag traps focus while open and returns it when closed, and a “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page.
- Screen readers. Pages use real headings in order, landmark regions, and labelled form fields. Buttons say what they do rather than relying on an icon alone. Changes such as adding an item to the bag are announced.
- Images. Product and editorial photographs carry descriptive alternative text. Purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Colour and contrast. Body text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — colour swatches also carry their names as text.
- Zoom and reflow. The site works at 200% zoom and down to a 320px viewport without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
- Motion. Animations are subtle and brief, and all of them are disabled automatically if your system is set to reduce motion. Nothing on the site flashes, auto-plays or moves without your input.
- Forms. Every field has a visible label, errors are described in text rather than by colour alone, and the field with the problem is identified.
3. Where we know we fall short
Being honest about the gaps we are aware of:
- The product image gallery can be operated by keyboard, but does not yet support swipe gestures with a screen reader’s touch mode on mobile.
- Some longer product descriptions use industry terms — “saddle stitch”, “gusset”, “drop” — without an inline glossary.
- Colour swatch names describe the shade rather than its relationship to other shades, which is less useful if you cannot see the swatch.
These are on our list. If one of them is blocking you right now, email us and we will help you complete your order directly.
4. Tell us when we get it wrong
If you hit a barrier anywhere on this site, please write to team@pursecorner.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and — if it helps — the browser and assistive technology you use.
We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and to give you a fix or a workaround within 10 business days. Reports about accessibility go to the top of the queue.
5. Buying another way
If the site is not working for you, you do not have to fight with it. Email team@pursecorner.com with what you would like and we will take the order by email, answer questions about sizes, materials and colours in whatever detail is useful, and arrange payment and delivery. There is no price difference for ordering this way.
6. How we test
We check pages with keyboard-only navigation, with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, with NVDA on Windows, at 200% zoom, and with automated tooling on every release. Automated tools catch perhaps a third of real problems, so the manual passes and your reports matter more.
7. This statement
Prepared August 14, 2026 based on a self-assessment of the live site. We review it whenever the site changes substantially, and at least once a year.
